For this member, starting a new chapter in her life never felt better!

As a result of a side effect of some medicine she was taking, Sila found herself gaining weight. She knew she had to make a change because she felt she was spiraling downward and needed to re-gain control of her future. It got to the point where Sila couldn't do simple tasks like tie her shoes without losing her breath, and the kids at school began calling her names. Sila knew she could accomplish her goals with a little hard work and determination. "I had to make a change to feel good about myself again and actually be okay with myself when I looked in the mirror."

All of these reasons led Sila to her trainer, Aaron. Working out together twice a week, Sila and Aaron do a lot of total body strength training to improve lean muscle. Being the amazing trainer that he is, Aaron even taught Sila how to use all of the gym equipment so she felt comfortable working out the other three or four days when she wasn't with him, as well as how to create her own workouts.

In addition to her fitness routine, Sila vastly improved her diet. "Before, I used to eat maybe five or six times a day. I ate everything I could find. I didn’t care because I thought, I’m already fat. It doesn’t matter anymore. Aaron taught me to cut back on carbs and choose healthier options." Fast forward to today, Sila focuses on eating healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Sila's hard work paid off, resulting in a weight loss of 41 pounds! "My legs got slimmer and muscular. My arms and shoulders got smaller. My stomach got flatter, and I lost the layers of fat on my side. I have no trouble breathing anymore and it’s easy to go upstairs now. I got stronger and can push five to six plates on the sled now. I can go out dancing and join my parents for long walks."

If Sila could give one tip of advice, it would be to get a personal trainer if possible. "My trainer pushed me when I didn’t have the self-confidence to push myself. The most important thing he taught me was to always push myself to do better."
