Sport&Health Announces New State-of-the-Art Fitness Club in Rockville’s Pike & Rose Center
DC Metro Area’s Largest Fitness Club Company Continues to Expand
McLean, Virginia (September 19, 2013) – Sport&Health Clubs is pleased to announce its latest endeavor in expansion, a state-of-the-art fitness club in the Pike & Rose Center in Rockville, Maryland. An extension of Sport&Health’s existing 23 clubs throughout the DC Metro area, this club will offer the Rockville community the industry’s top amenities.
“The new Pike & Rose development is an exciting project within a healthy, active and lifestyle-driven community,” said Mark Fisher, Sport&Health CEO and President. “Our newest Sport&Health club is a perfect extension of our existing clubs serving the I-270 corridor in Maryland and complements our ongoing growth strategy.”
With a modern, clean and timeless design, the club will offer quality fitness equipment and programming that adapts to current fitness trends. A Mind/Body Studio, designed with comfortable and spa-like surroundings, will offer inversion yoga and other unique programming. A group cycle studio will feature the virtual MyRide “Forward Motion Video” (FMV) - a first-person experience that allows participants to feel as if they are traveling through a location just as they would in real life. Riders can travel different routes and experience the terrain of more than 70 countries. Members will also have the option of exercising outside with an elevated outdoor social and training space.
All of the cardio fitness equipment will feature personal viewing screens, and floor plans will be designed to create a personal training friendly environment. The club will also feature Sport&Health’s signature Kidz Klub with “Exergames,” which combine interactive and fun video games with dynamic movement – ultimately leading to healthy, happy kids.
Working with the Federal Realty Investment Trust, Sport&Health’s new 32,000 square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of Montrose Parkway, Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Road. This exciting new urban area, located near the White Flint metro station, is pedestrian-friendly and features a mix of culture, entertainment, restaurants and shopping.
The Pike & Rose club is the latest development for Sport&Health following three new clubs in Gainesville, North Frederick and Woodbridge. The interior architecture and design for the new Pike & Rose location was done by Vibe Design, Inc. and the base building architecture is by Steven Kahle Architects. Sport&Health’s clubs are exclusively represented by Vanguard Realty Group.
