DRAFTING:
Selecting your players
TRADES:
Success and survival
TRADES:
Success and survival
-
Trust your draft board. If you were prepared for the draft, you shouldn't have to trade. Don't get caught up in the excitement. Trust your early decisions and hang on to your players unless you have a clear-cut opportunity to improve your team.
- Don't fall for breakout performances. Almost every season, one unknown player will have a huge game in week one. Don't rush to trade for him! Breakout players with one game; consistent players win seasons.
- Pay attention to team names. If a team name in your league refers to a specific NFL player or team, exploit that loyalty in a trade. Offer up an unproven rookie or poor performer from their favorite team in exchange for one of their better players.
-
Stock up in Running Backs. Frontload your draft with Running Backs in the first three picks. After the draft, a few teams will be willing to trade better players to fill the critical Running Back position.
- Stay up on injuries. Injuries and game suspensions cause the greatest need to adjust your line up. Keep abreast of injuries to make good trade decisions.
